New Year Re-Solutions and How To Make Them Stick!

It's a New Year and you know what you want to do: lose weight. exercise more, eat more fruit and veg, and so on. But will you follow through?

At the beginning of each New Year many people talk about making resolution especially about improving the quality of their health, however only find that we can't make them stick.

Here are my three tips to help you make your New Year’s resolutions stick:

First, make it simple. Often at times we tend to make our resolutions too grand. But, the simpler the better - take baby steps.

Secondly, share your goals with friends. This is one way of building a supportive environment conducive to achieving your goals.

Third, reward yourself. And I don’t mean going on a binge drinking bender. Instead, schedule periodic rewards for each step you take, such as treating yourself to Gold Class movie tickets, a stress-reducing massage or a new pair of shoes.

And, if your resolutions “fall by the wayside”, look at this as an important part of change, not a permanent set back. No body gets it right the first time. It is important to get back to positive behaviours and not beat yourself up. Feeling like a failure will create one. Feeling like a champion will help you win. Good luck!
